Windows 7 Problem Steps Recorder - [W7.T01]

Muchos de ustedes me han pedido que comience a publicar informacion sobre Windows 7, que herramientas y cambios incluye. Asi que iniciare una serie de entradas con informacion sobre las herramientas que he ido descubriendo con el uso de la beta de Windows 7 [y el technet claro]




Claro, estamos pendientes para una demo general de todas estas herramientas, en cuanto tengamos armado el evento lo publicaremos en el sitio de la comunidad http://www.itcommunity.com.gt/

Hoy quiero iniciar con una herramienta que sera muy util para que los profesionales de IT mejoren el tiempo de Respuesta de Troubleshooting.

Se recuerdan de los problemas de usuario?, cuando te toca estar en el help desk, la primera pregunta al usuario es... que fue lo que hizo?, y la respuesta tipica "Nada, estaba funcionando y luego fallo..." jejeje.

Creanlo o no, en algunas ocaciones realmente es asi [ok, demos la oportunidad de la duda a nuestros curiosos usuarios], pero como te explica el usuario que pasos realizo antes de que ocurriera un memory dump, o se frezeara la aplicacion, dificil no? Recordemos que nuestros usuarios no escribieron el kernel de Windows, asi que toda la info en Hex, tiene cara de Chino.

La solucion viene en una nueva herramienta incluida en Windows 7, llamada Problem Steps Recorder, para llegar a ella, Start, en la linea de search tecleamos PSR, seleccionamos Start Record y ya estamos listos para reproducir el error.




Al obtener el error, seleccionamos Stop Record y el PSR genera un archivo .zip dentro del cual existe un .mht [una pagina web], en la cual muestra que pasos realizo el usuario antes y durante la falla. De forma interesante la herramienta, incluye Screenshots, ingreso de teclado, versiones de programa, etc, para que help desk tenga toda la informacion a mano.




Ahora nuestros usuarios pueden enviar por email este archivo y recibir una mejor ayuda. :o)
